Robert and Cortney get on the road and head for the wild waves of the shore for their newest design overhaul, a hotel called The Bungalow. The Hotel Bungalow is a first for the dynamic design duo, since it is located in the ultra swanky section of Long Branch, NJ.

The New Jersey beach communities have gotten a bum wrap for decades, and with shows like MTV's Jersey Shore, the stereotype is only reinforced. However, this year, BRAVO launched a show called 9 by Design, and, this Tuesday, in the show's season finale, its stars, Robert and Cortney Novogratz, a dynamic duo of designers, will turn that stereotype on its head.

Robert and his wife Cortney are a dynamic duo of designers that have recently garnered tremendous attention through their firm Sixx Design, the 9 by Design TV show, and their recent book, Downtown Chic.
The accusations are flying in the hearing rooms of Congress. Leaders of three major companies were called in to testify, including BP Chairman Lamar McKay. Members of Congress wanted to know what happened at the Deepwater Horizon oil rig off the coast of Louisiana where oil is still spewing into the Gulf of Mexico at an alarming rate. Answers remained elusive as everybody tried to shift the blame to someone else in the room. Members (and the public) are furious. Ultimately, the solution to the larger problem lies in ending our use of hazardous fossil fuels.
Sometime in the next few days, BP says it will officially launch what it is calling a "Top Kill" operation.
Oil continues to gush from a broken pipe in the Gulf of Mexico, and, while BP, the company responsible, maintains that only 5,000 barrels are flowing into the water every day, one group of scientists thinks the leak could be dumping as much as 100,000 barrels a day.

India seeks to replace 400 million inefficient, incandescent light bulbs with energy-saving compact fluorescent lamp (CFL) bulbs at a considerably reduced price to the consumer. Many of the fishermen who signed up to work for BP cleaning up the oil signed contracts that forbid them from talking to the press. Perhaps for that reason, reports of illnesses have been somewhat slow to emerge. Last week, the wives of some of the fishermen spoke out publicly about the symptoms their husbands were experiencing. This week, some fishermen are starting to come forward. In this WDSU TV interview, one of the fishermen reports feeling drugged, disoriented, tingling, fatigued, and also reporting shortness of breath and cough. These are symptoms that are consistent with what one might expect from exposure to hydrocarbons in oil.
New Developments Signal a Fundamental Shift and Perhaps Significant Opportunity for Building Materials Suppliers
Our friend Leilani Münter just sent us an update. She has spent the past week on the Gulf Coast, seeing the oil spill first hand, taking photographs, and talking to fishermen.
She says things are bad down there, and she has a strong message for BP CEO Tony Hayward:
I think I speak for all of the American people when I say that your cavalier and dismissive attitude towards this oil spill is not making you any friends. Maybe you should spend a little less time doing media interviews trying to reduce the perceived impact of your oil spill and instead spend more time trying to plug the leak and cleaning up the mess that you have made in our Gulf.
