Would You Stay In A Seascraper?

Its designers call it The Gyre, and it's a big idea.

Big like 400 meters deep. Big like more than a kilometer across. Big like housing over 2000 people. Big like totally off the grid.

A design firm called Zigloo dreamed up The Gyre as a submission to eVolo's Skyscraper Design Competition last year. It didn't win, but it does continue to float around the internet.

The Gyre, says Zigloo, is "a new class of Eco-tourism bringing scientists and vacationers together to understand what is the least known environment on our planet, the ocean."

So, the question is, GREENandSAVERS, how does underwater, sun-and-wind-and-tide-powered eco-tourism sound to you?
