Did anyone see Undercover Boss a couple of weeks ago?
One of our friends just told us we had to watch the 7-Eleven episode. So we watched. And we're glad we did.
The Undercover Boss premise is that a fancy CEO puts on a disguise, assumes a fake identity, and leaves his penthouse office for a tour of duty on his company's front lines. The 7-Eleven episode features Joe DePinto, a young, West-Point-educated businessman and follows him from store to store to doughnut factory to delivery truck as he explores the less-glamorous side of his convenience store empire.
The reason our friend thought we'd like the episode is that one of the things Joe unhappily discovers is that 7-Eleven maintenance crews are slow to replace burnt-out light fixtures. And, since we do so much work with LED lighting, our friend was curious as to how we'd react.
Well, we don't think light fixtures should burn out. If we had our way, we'd install an LED system in every 7-Eleven facility worldwide, save those maintenance crews lots of time, radically reduce electricity usage in the process, and let Joe DePinto worry about other things.
