Your home is one of your most valuable assets, yet few homeowners understand how to easily manage their home energy consumption. In an effort to solve this problem, a team of energy experts and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) professionals have created a simple way for all homeowners to determine their home’s energy efficiency. In addition, the homeowners will learn how to save energy and money while also increasing their home’s value.

Homeowners can review their personalized Home Efficiency Dashboard and Report, which evaluates the home’s energy efficiency based on four efficiency scores (Home Utility Trend, Home Heating Index, Electric Base Load and Water Base Load Scores). These scores are compared against the U.S. home averages to provide insight into areas for improvement.

In addition, this report includes specific tactical recommendations that save not only energy but money and the environment in the process. To ensure that homeowners “get the most bang for their buck,” all tactics show the anticipated costs, savings potential, payback time, return on investment and whether they are eligible for state or federal tax incentives for taking steps toward being more efficient.

Since measurement is typically the key to successful energy management, homeowners may use this resource to monitor their energy saving performance month to month. Knowledge is one of our greatest assets and the Home Efficiency Dashboard and Report is a great first step in helping homeowners save hundreds of dollars in home operating costs.
