Our GREENandSAVE Staff is always on the lookout for cost-effective energy savings to help business in Wisconsin become more sustainable. The Energy Intelligence Center has developed some excellent Chiller Plant Energy Savings ranging from 15% to 40% via their OptikW algorithmic software platform. The software solutions do not require new equipment and the compensation for the services is paved on the savings generated. This is a win/win for businesses and the environment.

Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Optimization are core strengths of the Energy Intelligence Center. As sensor and control technology continues to improve, their team has demonstrated proven results using their advanced logic that leverages ambient conditions like temperature, humidity, and dew point to optimize HVAC systems.

Focus on Energy, Wisconsin's energy efficiency and renewable resources program administrator, between 2009 and 2015 implemented programs that put the cost to save a single kilowatt-hour of electricity at one cent. The national average was 2.5 cents per kilowatt-hour of electricity saved.

Program administrators in Arizona and Missouri were not far behind Focus on Energy with an average of 1.3 cents spent per kilowatt-hour saved, according to the report.

“The ranking is a testament to the amazing people who work at Focus on Energy and who constantly look for ways to help Wisconsinites save energy and money, while also positively contributing to the state’s economy,” said Focus on Energy program director Erinn Monroe-Nye in a news release. “We knew we had a cost-effective program, but it’s nice to know we are leading the other states.”

Consumer product rebate programs and installing LED technology are just some of the electricity saving-programs implemented by organizations across the U.S.
