Press Release Headline: U.S. LED Manufacturer, Independence LED Lighting, Pledges $200 Million in Energy-Saving Technology to Support President Trump’s Infrastructure Plan

Greater Philadelphia, Pa., Feb. 12, 2018 - Independence LED Lighting (www.IndependenceLED.com) is pleased to announce that it is pledging $200 million to support President Trump’s Legislative Outline for Rebuilding Infrastructure in America, released by the White House today. President Trump’s vision is to turn $200 billion in federal money into $1.5 trillion for fixing America's infrastructure by leveraging local and state tax dollars and private investment. With its pledge, Independence LED Lighting is demonstrating to Congress that the private sector is on board with the infrastructure plan. The company was one of the very first Buy American Act (BAA) Compliant LED lighting manufacturers, moving its production from China to southeastern Pennsylvania in 2010. Now, it is leading by example again and challenging manufacturers in other sectors to help improve American infrastructure.

Large scale initiatives typically rely on strength in numbers, and improving our infrastructure is a team sport. We challenge other private sector companies to join in the game and send a bi-partisan message to Congress that we can do this together.

- Charlie Szoradi, Independence LED Lighting, Chairman and CEO

With zero upfront cost to the taxpayers or to the infrastructure improvement budget, Independence LED will provide its award-winning energy saving technology to improve the lighting in facilities ranging from airports to veterans’ hospitals. Through its strategic financing partners, Independence LED helps generate cash flow positive results from the start. The performance contracting, sometimes referred to as Energy Saving Performance Contracts (ESPCs), provide the government with the ability to simply pay for the new technology from the savings that are generated each month. This is a win/win for the government and Americans that rely on our infrastructure in many different ways. Plus, the U.S. made advantage creates more jobs for Americans along the path of improvement. Independence LED has extensive CASE STUDIES across military and civilian agencies including installations on over 30 U.S. Navy ships for Military Sealift Command (MSC), Marine Corps Base Quantico, the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina, and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
