Bamboo Blinds

Bamboo blinds and bamboo shades are an inexpensive way to add warmth and exotic flavor to any room in your house.

These traditional Asian inspired bamboo window coverings are made by weaving together very thin shafts of bamboo, which have been whittled and stripped of joints and outer skin. In Asia, bamboo-blind making continues as a traditional craft and involves both manual and mechanized procedures.

Venetian and Roll-up bamboo blinds make an economical and attractive window covering to accent any décor. The slats on a roll-up blind will be quite thin, from matchstick to straw-like for ease of rolling, with the weaving patterns varying the amount of light and privacy. Roman bamboo shades fold into layers as they're rolled up or down.

You'll also find bamboo blinds and shades in less traditional styles, with longer, wider slats of bamboo in both horizontal and vertical blinds.

Bamboo blinds and shades come in a variety of lengths and can be custom made to fit most window requirements.

In addition, bamboo blinds are environmentally sound and provide insulation against summer's heat and winter's cold. These two benefits alone combine to make this window covering a beautiful and practical choice.

A few benefits of bamboo blinds and shades:
  1. Due to the durability and weather resistance of bamboo many manufactures are using bamboo materials in their product lines.
  2. Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants on earth and can be used in replacement of wood materials that must be harvested from forests (note: often confused - bamboo is actually a grass not a tree).
  3. By using bamboo for window coverings in your home you are using an environmentally sound way to make your home look fantastic.
  4. Bamboo blinds are more economical than other blinds and shades made of wood – and they last longer!
