Music & Introduction – 6:00

Good Morning! Welcome to the GGHS. Well, it looks like we’re already nearly halfway through spring and on our way to summer and all of the terrific activities that go along with this time of year, like swimming, hiking, biking, barbecuing, tennis, golf, softball, landscaping, gardening... speaking of gardening, we have some do it yourself organic gardening tips today. And of course we’ll also get into:

  • Some more money and energy saving tips
  • Gray Energy
  • Play Political Golf
  • Thumbs Up Thumbs Down
  • Great Guest Tom Noyes

But you know what’s really on my mind? Ethanol & Meat. I don’t want to beat this to death, but it’s really important. I want to talk about ethanol and meat.

We discuss: And you my fine environmental friend and co-host… what’s on your mind this week?

What I'm really looking forward to our discussion with Tom Noyes about wind power and other environmental insights that he may have... Tom is a really bright guy who's been involved in administration and finance on a macro and micro level for many years.... and he plays a pretty fair guitar also

I think the political scene has been covered pretty well on the national level and as always we recommend the Daily show and of course the Colbert Report... it's hard to match those guys for insightfulness, comedy and downright zaniness to relieve the tension…we love you Hillary but enough is enough... I think Barak has the better environmental plan and vision for Green economic development, read up make up you own mind.....

Just lately, once again the discussion of illegal immigration comes to the forefront with a few interviews of the candidates and some pretty lame interviewers..

.But the real discussion should be about population and population control and no one will touch that one.... suffice to say it's a discussion we need to have and about 70 to 80% of our environmental problems would disappear were we to have some sort of population plan control and gradual reduction........ ( discuss )

Last but not least thought about all the flower shows that we have begun to what we can support our local florists and farmers, SIW Vegetables...Francine’s Community Marketplace.. and don't forget J. Tottman at a Natural by Nature organic dairy products fresh from the Meadows..... that's here in our region... support the people in your areas who are supplying the local produce and dairy....join a local CSA…What’s a CSA? Great… now please thank our sponsors.

Thanks to: – CMI Solar Electric - Energy Services Group - Suntrust Mortgage of Christiana – Green and Save.com - Scott Birney for donating so much time towards these projects and also Mark Unruh for the great music… to the rest of the Sin City Band: Stevie, Bob, Dave and John – Thanks. Protect us Doug…

News Flash – 1:00 Sponsored by CMI Electric

Noted Environmental leader and educator Lester Brown, author of Plan B 3.0, shows us how we can change in enough time to save life on earth, as we know it. Of all the resources needed to build an economy that will sustain economic progress, none is more scarce than time. That is one of the key messages of PLAN-B 3.0: Mobilizing to Save Civilization, the newest book by Lester Brown of The World Watch Institute – available as a free download at earthpolicy.org.

Plan A -- the western fossil-fuel-based, auto-centered, throwaway economic model -- is not going to work for China, India, or the 3 billion other people in developing countries, and it will not continue to work for the industrial countries either.

It's time for Plan B -- an all-out response at warp speed proportionate to the magnitude of threats facing civilization. The four overriding goals of PLAN B 3.0 are to stabilize climate and population, eradicate poverty, and restore the earth's damaged ecosystems. Available as a free download at earthpolicy.org. We’ll be right back...
