1: high mileage...minis, The list of the 10 most popular cars...9 are foreign....

2: hybrid, Prius and such....35 to 55 or so.....future potential for 80 mpg...still lower but some emissions...runs on battery and gas intermitenly, simultaneously...

3: Turbo Diesel: higher mileage...biodiesal or lows sulphur diesel....not as clean unless biodiesal, small % of cars ..limited fuel supply and use of precious food stocks for transport

4: hydrogen; No stations, Very expensive, dirty process need windmills to make hydrogen at night for clean fuel....

5: plug-in hybrid best bet; 20 to 50 miles on battery 9 #0 is commute avg: eqv. Of $100 a gallon cost... lower emissions about 10 to 20% of normal , easy plug in... Zero emissions if fueled by renewable sources....plug in at night...timers for...source charge at work.....

6: Natural gas: still emits, non renewable fuel, gas stations?

So what can we do now? Here’s a list:

There are a lot of options and you must plug yourself in and read each situation as unique: let’s see what can we do to reduce our carbon emissions and save some money.

1: car pool, everywhere you go its so much better with friends...the green neighbor site...get one

2: ride a bicycle if you can, high efficient moped or motorcycle if you cant ride a bike....

3: Mass transit

4: plant trees to offset carbon

5: Car share: Truck share:

6: Work at home 1 day a week

7: walk… start slow build up

8: Buy local products: particularly produce… less shipping costs, handling, manpower, etc..

9: Support sustainable build outs, even if the initial or short term cost are higher...you are investing in your future and saving on residual fallout costs from polluting sources of energy generation

10: Organize your neighborhood around green... sports, daycare, eldercare, carpool , car-share, recycle centers, mulching, garage swap, education on being green...

11: Set up potluck socials and suppers with neighbors
