Music & Introduction (Doug) – 3:30

Introduction – Good Morning!!! Happy Holidays and welcome to another edition of The Great Green Home Show. We want to thank everyone who’s tuned in today, as well as those of you who’re listening online at wilm.com. We hope you’re warm and happy and ready to find out what you can do to reduce your carbon footprint, save some electricity, but most importantly, save yourself some money.

As always, our goal is to entertain and deliver useful energy saving tips as we also try to give you the latest information available regarding all things “green”,

And actually we need to thank you, our listeners, because we learn so much every week when we research the topics that build the theme for each week’s show. Paul, Brooke and I have already learned 10 times more than we’d have ever thought existed “Green-ness”. We’ve learned about how to save energy, whether not ethanol makes sense, energy Star products, SEER ratings, wind power, dryers, coal and natural gas, energy efficient automobiles and, of course, we’ve learned an awful lot about what our future holds.

We feel extremely privileged to be able to bring you this information and it’s our hope that we can keep up with the incredibly vast changes that are occurring everywhere on the planet, both in technology and in the number of people who are shining a light on saving our planet. So again thanks for supporting the show and helping us to educate ourselves as we try to change our habits and bring you along for the ride. Please feel free to correct us, send letters or call and scream at us. And remember to make us aware of anything you think we missed or information you feel is important to be put out over the air so we can help everyone reduce the carbon footprint and save some money.

Speaking of helping us… does anyone know where we can find some Green Holiday music? We’d love to play some if someone can tell us where to find it.

Anyway, I’m Doug Hunt and next to me is my co-host, Paul Hughes. Good morning my green brotha... what is goin’ on? Paul, how was your week?

Paul: a lot has happened in the world in the last week

    1. Passage of the Federal Energy Bill..,
-CAFE standards are up 35 mpg by 2020...
-more money for Alternatives energy programs… although we are not sure how much
-investment incentives for plug in hybrids... etc... look up...
-Blue water wind starts negotiating with utilities in Maryland and has adjusted their price for Delmarva downward, which is a good thing -more awareness in publications about:

Large-scale Agro-fuel production. Which has and will threaten food security, farmers, forests and land rights in developing countries and Africa in particular. For this reason, everyone from indigenous peoples to UN experts are urging governments to re-think their enthusiasm for the new "Green Gold Rush.") Doug: I don’t want to beat it to death, but I’m going to anyway!

“ The Great Green Expo” on March 29, 2008 at the Chase Riverfront Center. We want… Nay we implore everyone to put this one on their calendar. This will be the centerpiece of the “Green” movement in the Delaware Valley. We want everyone from S.E. PA, South Jersey, Northern Maryland and all of Delaware to attend this thing. The “Expo” will have something for everyone, whether you’re already ultra green, just a little green, only thinking about being green or even not green at all. We’ll have some celebrity guests, great local and regional musicians, speakers talking to us about all kinds of interesting stuff, different educational organizations (with some surprise stuff specifically for the kids… the students), some green this, some renewable that, and interesting vendors (with some really cool products) out the wazoo. As things start to develop we’ll bring you more and more information about this Green Crown-jewel. Again, it’s March 29th at the Chase Riverfront Center.

Before we get started, we need to thank our sponsors… Paul?

Paul: By the way, Today::::: The Green Xmas tip: Stock in Green Mutual Funds and or Green growth companies......for the kids....learn more and will research green technology, etc....
