It’s time for Listener Letters. What do we have Doug?

  1. Our first letter Malisa Hurts of Wilmington Delaware: Melissa asks: The label on a product called Mazzola pure spray says it contains no alcohol or silicone. Why would either ingredient being a cooking spray? Aren't they dangerous to ingest?

Grain alcohol which is found in PAM cooking spray dimethylpolysyloxin (a type of silicone) found in Mazzola original spray and food additives are approved by the food and drug administration and they're considered safe as long as you use the sprays as directed on the label according to food scientist Linda Green. Manufacturers say they add these ingredients to help oils come out clear and to prevent foaming and promote better pan coverage.
Okay that's a scientist answer let's go with the common sense answer to some of these things contain alcohol and you should not be drinking while eating and cooking and silicone and you shouldn't be consuming silicone...... try something natural like butter or something else that's a natural.

  2. Our next letter comes from Dana Wildman of Bishopville, DE: You’ve been advising car buyers to negotiate a new car’s price with the dealer before they mention any trade-ins. When I went car shopping recently every salesperson asked upfront whether I be trading in my car. What should I say

Say that you haven't yet made up your mind, explain that you will decide after you see what kind of price you get on a new car and especially a hybrid which may be very different and they may also be hot sellers at this point... and see how you're treated by the dealership. Let them know that this is the way that you are thinking.

Negotiating the used car separately prevents the salesperson from giving you a quote good deal" on the new car but making it up for it on the trade in.

    Doug what do you think?

  3. Question number three comes from Paul’s Mom Jody Hughes of Greenville, DE: How come you guys have such a good show but keep talking over each other every time a good topic is brought up? Can't you stop this and pay attention to each other?

Mom, I just want to say that it's not me. Every time I get on a roll Doug seems to talk over me and if Brooke could chime in and all three of us would probably be talking at the same time. But I can't blame either of the them because our show is so chock full of exciting information and topics for people to consider and ponder for changing their lives for the better that we just can't control ourselves if we didn't have duct tape on Brooke’s mouth she would probably be out talking all of us. Doug got any comments?
    Brooke (mumbles, grunts)
