Eleven people are missing after an oil rig sank off the coast of Louisiana on Thursday.

The rig started burning on Tuesday, after an explosion, and the Coast Guard was unable to put out the fire.

Search and rescue attempts continue, but authorities are not optimistic about their chances of finding the missing workers.

They are also worried about a "major" oil spill, as they can see a five-mile-long oil slick extending from the site of the accident.

However you look at it, it was a rough Earth Day for the Gulf of Mexico and the people that work there.
