What are some cost and energy saving solutions?

I live in upstate New York and during the winter my heating bill is hundreds of dollars a month. Do you have any cost and energy saving solutions for me and my family?

The easiest and cheapest way to start saving energy when heating your home is to turn down your thermostat and wear a sweater. (that’s pretty easy and costs nothing). For about $50-100 you could buy a setback thermostat that will turn your heat down automatically when you are away at work. If you want to expend a little more effort, go up into your attic with a can of spray foam and spray it in any hole that connect your attic to the rest of the house (like where wires or plumbing vents stick up through the floor).
