Water Efficient Toilets

Water Efficient Toilets
Spend $50 now and SAVE $25 each year.. ROI = 50%

Switching over to water-efficient plumbing fixtures could save the average household as much as $50 to $100 a year on water and wastewater bills.

Due to the new low-flow toilets, Americans save over $11 million everyday on their water bill. Older toilets typically used up to 7 gallons per flush, and then they 'evolved' to a more effcient 3.5 gallons per flush, and then to 1.6 gallons per flush. The new 'Low Flow' or 'High-Efficiency' toilets only use about 1.3 gallons per flush, and save your family between 8,000 and 20,000 gallons of water per year, per toilet over the 7 gallon models and save about 3,200 gallons realitve to the 3.5 gallon models.

You can also consider dual-flush with an option for a light 0.9 gallons / heavy 1.6 gallons. However, the dual flush are more expensive units starting around $300.

The ROI Calculation is based on a typical toilet costing about $180 and a 'Low Flow' water efficient 1.3 gallon toilet costing around $230, with water costs at about $1.50 / 1,000 gallons

Look for toilets that are marked with 1.6 gpf = gallons per flush
