The End of the Hummer

GM announced today that it was closing down its Hummer business. It had been negotiating with a Chinese automaker about a potential sale of the brand, but the deal fell through, and GM decided it was time "to wind down the business in an orderly and responsible manner."

According to a USA Today news release, the potential buyer, Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Corporation, decided against the acquisition because "Beijing's regulators said the gas-guzzling trucks conflicted with the country's environmental policies."

Good news for the atmosphere. Bad news for the 3,000 Americans that build and sell Hummers.

I hope hummer would still continue to make cars. However, not everyone can afford it maybe that is it has decided to close it's car making business soon.
