Precision Paragon is an energy efficient commercial lighting manufacturer who specializes in lighting retrofit projects. Since upgrading to energy efficient lighting can create big cost savings and significant environmental benefits, Precision Paragon has developed an online retrofit calculator to help demonstrate the amount of savings that could be realized.

The calculator is very user friendly and asks for information on the facility type, the total square footage, cost per kWh, and annual hours of operation. After entering these factors the calculator provides many outputs including energy savings, cost savings, environmental benefits, in addition to the providing environmental equivalents based on the energy saved (ie. how many cars taken off the road, gallons of gasoline not burned, households powered for one year, etc.).

The calculator is driven by square foot values from a large and representative population of base cases (existing systems) and a large and representative population of commonly deployed relight solutions. This includes an industrial baseline dominated by manually controlled High Intensity Discharge (HID) and an office baseline that is a mix of manually controlled T12 and 1st generation T8.

The cost and savings projection range that results from using the calculator is a reflection of the financially viable technologies that could be deployed using various types of lighting (ie. LED, fluorescent, induction, etc.). To create the most compelling return on investment (ROI) the calculator creates estimates based on the most commonly used lighting applications and estimates savings based on a mix of commonly used technologies for those scenarios. One of the best features about the calculator is that after it shows you all of the potential savings, it allows you to email your results or download them as a PDF document for easy sharing.

Precision Paragon's retrofit calculator is a convenient and easy way to get a better idea of your lighting consumption and potential savings.
