Atmospheric CO2 Levels Continue To Rise

There is more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere now than there was at this time last year.
Scientists in northern Norway have been taking measurements for the past two weeks, and they've found that carbon dioxide now makes up 393.71 parts per million of the atmosphere. It made up 393.17 parts per million last year.
The 2009 to 2010 increase was not as big as some other recent yearly increases, which might have to do with a decline in industrial activity due to the global recession. The trend continues upward, however, and 393.71 PPM is still a lot of parts per million higher than the 350 PPM that NASA climate scientist James Hansen considers to be a safe concentration.
