Code of Ethics

STATEMENT OF INTENT

To establish and encourage high ethical standards and practices for graduates of the Green and Save Eco Academy.

CODE OF ETHICS

The first in a series of curriculum is the training of Home Efficiency Consultants. Graduates that provide (Consultant) services to the public shall conform to the Green and Save Eco Academy’s Standards of Practice.

The Consultant shall perform all duties and services to their clients with the highest integrity, honesty and with full disclosure at all times.

The Consultant will only report their findings and recommendations to their client based upon their training, experience and professionalism.

The Consultant shall not accept compensation, monetary or otherwise, for a home efficiency consultation from anyone other than the contracting home owner without prior, full disclosure to that home owner.

If a Consultant recommends a vendor to a home owner to do work for that home owner, the Consultant shall fully disclose to that home owner any possible compensation the Consultant may receive from the recommended vendor at the time of the recommendation or prior to the work being started.

The Consultant shall not disclose any information concerning the results of the consultation without the approval of the home owner for which the consultation was performed, unless compelled by court order.

Consultants, while providing professional services, including professional interactions with vendors, shall not discriminate against any person on the basis of age, race, color, religion, sex, handicap, family status, national origin or any other status protected by law.

This Code of Ethics may mandate responsibilities and conditions that may be stricter than those required by law. However the law always takes precedence over the Code of Ethics when there is a conflict or challenge by the law.
