Are there eco-friendly flooring alternatives to hardwood floors?

I am looking to put in new hardwood flooring in my dining room and was wondering if there were any eco-friendly alternatives?

Bamboo floors are very popular as a “green” flooring product because bamboo re-grows quickly after it is cut. But any wood flooring that is made with “sustainably harvested” wood can be an ecologically friendly flooring.
