Charlie Szoradi is an architect with over two decades of experience in high-performance ‘green’ home design and remodeling. He is a sought after speaker on next-level design due to his ground breaking work and specific focus on the integration of great function and style with significant cost-savings and environmental sustainability. Charlie and his wife teamed up to create the High Performance House Transformation that took several years of diligent research and construction.

Cynthia Szoradi is a residential real estate agent in Philadelphia’s Main Line. Cynthia has over four generations of family experience in real estate sales and development. She brings profound marketplace insight into homeowner demand and overall trends, and she worked tirelessly to make the home stylistically appealing with solutions that are also cost-effective.

Charlie and Cynthia together served as key sounding boards and counterpoints in the design and transformation of their formerly in-efficient 1950s residence into a ground breaking eco-sustainable home. The residence proves out over 50 sustainable design elements, most of which are featured on this web site. The research and process of ‘green’ home improvement literally served as the catalyst for this online resource designed to share the findings with mainstream America.

To create this site, Charlie and Cynthia partnered with an outstanding team of researchers, designers, and programmers. One in particular, Mark McGraw, has joined forces to help tell the story beyond the web. Mark is a great friend of the family, and he is also an outstanding carpenter that worked with Charlie on ‘mission critical’ aspects of the remodeling like the home entertainment cabinet for the new flat screen TV! More important, Mark has worked as the on-air talent on ‘Spice Up My Kitchen’. The show won the highest rating on Home and Garden Television (HGTV) over the summer of 2007, and Mark is intimately familiar with homeowner needs, the means to reach their goals, and the way to clearly communicate the process.
